FRMC Meeting Minutes

Meeting Date and Location

Vice-President Gary Spencer called the meeting to order at 7:37 pm at McCoy’s Family Dining at 4855 Federal Blvd in Denver, Co.   President Larry Standiford was suffering from bronchitis which limited his ability to speak.

Old Business

Membership dues for 2019 are due at $30 per family with $510.000 collected to-date.  So far for 2019, the club has 17 paid family memberships and 3 approved non-paying memberships including 2 members who joined in the last third of 2018. 
Per Wendell Salas, the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup has secured sponsorship from Adams Polish which will include several donated show and shine packages for attendees  with an estimated total value of $8K.  Adams Polish has also volunteered to hold a detailing clinic in May on either the 11th or 18th. 
The Club’s outing at K1 Karting Speed Racing was well attended on February 23rd and pictures documenting the event have been posted to the Club website at frontrangemustangclub.org.

New Business

The Club will meet at the Shelby American Collection for a tour of their world class collection of historic Cobras, Mustangs and Ford GTs at 10am on Saturday, March 23rd.  The address is 5020 Chaparral Court in Boulder 80301.  Details on the collection can be found at  shelbyamericancollection.org and admission is $5.00 for adults.  The Club will go to lunch after the tour at a nearby BBQ. 
The following list represents some of the most likely events to be pursued by the club in the upcoming months.  Times and dates will be determined closer to the events based on club input and site availability.
March 23 – Visit to the Shelby American Collection near Boulder, 10am
April 27 – Erie, CO Spirit of Flight Center Air Museum
May 25-26 – Rio Grande Mustang Club Show, Albuquerque, NM
June 13-15 – Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup, Steamboat Springs, CO
July – Rambler Ranch AMC Car Collection, Elizabeth, CO
September – St. Jude Car Show, Landmark Lincoln, Littleton, CO
October – FRMC Chili Feed
December – FRMC Holiday Party
In addition, former member Dan Ryal has issued an offer to host a club event sometime in the summer or fall.
Other upcoming events of interest, with details posted on the FRMC website Bullett-n Board where possible, include:
April 27 -  First ever Saturday Cruise Night for the Highlands Ranch Hot Rod Club, 4-9pm and every 4th Saturday of the month thru September 28.  All interested parties are welcome to drive or view. 
June 8 – the 12th Cruiz’n Havana – details to come from the Collector Car Council of Colorado (CCCC).
June 9 – North Side ROMEOS’ 2019 Vehicle Show in Wheat Ridge 9am-2pm.
June 9 – 36th Annual Colorado Concours d’Elegance & Exotic Sports Car Show at Arapahoe Community College, 9am-3pm.  Club members John McNurney, Tom Ferguson, and Frank Herbst have shown their Cobras, and Shelby Mustangs at this event iand more Shelby’s and Boss Mustangs are always welcome. 
August 3 – Air & Ground Show at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport & CCCC Swap Meet.
August 17 – 3rd Annual Holy Rollers Charity Car Show, S. Midway Park, Broomfield, CO. Assistance.  
If you’d like an event you are interested in posted to the website Bullett-n Board, bring an informational flyer to an upcoming Club meeting.  The next Club meeting will be held on Friday, April 12th at McCoy’s at 7pm.  The June meeting will be held June 7th to not conflict with the Roundup in Steamboat.

Treasurer's Report

The club had $1,638.33 in the checking account with Vectra Bank as of the meeting date.  Expenses incurred since the last club meeting included $20.00  for 289 Club recognition pins.

MCA Report

There was no news to report since the club’s January meeting.  Again, club members are encouraged to attend one of the three National Club Shows within driving distance of Colorado with the Topeka, Kansas show on July 18-20 being the closest.
